Inclusion: Flourishing Together

Inclusion: Flourishing Together – Rainbow Education MAT Hosts First Annual Support Staff Conference

Rainbow Education Multi Academy Trust proudly hosted its first Annual Support Staff Conference at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool—bringing together colleagues from across the trust for a powerful day of CPD centred on inclusion, relational practice and helping every child to flourish.

The day was opened by Sarah Knipe, Director of Education, who grounded delegates in our trust’s guiding principles and reminded us of our shared commitment to ensuring that every child reaches their potential.

Throughout the conference, delegates were inspired by a range of expert speakers:
• Lottie Harriman, Trust SEND Lead, who challenged us to reflect on equity vs. equality and reinforced our belief that every child can make progress.
• Tracy Rowland, CCB SEND Educator, who explored how the sensory system affects children with Sensory Processing Difficulties.
• Elaine Devereux, Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, who shared practical, evidence-informed strategies for supporting pupils with ADHD in mainstream settings.
• Steve Baker OBE, who reminded us of the transformational power of strong, authentic relationships in children’s lives.

Delegates also took part in a wide range of practical workshops, including:
• Supporting Children with Dyslexia – Lucy Wells
• Pathological Demand Avoidance – Tracy Rowland
• Sensory Circuits – Claire Pye
• Using Technology to Support SEND Learners – Taja McIlroy
• Belonging – Jack Chalmers

To round off the day, colleagues enjoyed a lively game of Irish Bingo—with a couple of coveted duvet days up for grabs!

Closing the conference, Gina Donaldson, CEO, brought us back to the heart of our mission: ensuring every child receives the support they need to flourish, with adults who feel confident, equipped and valued.
